Category Prohibitions:
- No Commercial Activity: Buying, selling, or promoting products and services is strictly prohibited in this category.
- Medical & Health Advice: To prevent misinformation, threads regarding health advice or prescription medications are not allowed.
- Copyrighted Content: Sharing links to pirated content (sports streams, movies, TV shows, etc.) is strictly forbidden. Copyright holders may submit DMCA Takedown Notices to our designated agent for removal of infringing content.
- Regulated Substances: Threads promoting alcohol, tobacco, or other regulated substances that violate applicable state and federal laws are prohibited. Users are responsible for knowing their local regulations.
- Provocation & Toxicity: Threads created solely to incite conflict are banned. Users who foster a toxic environment will be suspended. Their posts will be archived as a permanent link in their account history, and repeat offenders may face additional restrictions.
- Abuse & Harassment: Profanity, insults, slurs, or derogatory visuals are strictly prohibited. Violators will face immediate suspension or permanent ban depending on severity. The final interpretation of these terms is at the sole discretion of the StateGigs moderation team.
- Public Figures & Harassment: While political discourse and criticism are permitted, credible threats of violence, targeted harassment, or content that violates U.S. Federal or State laws against public figures or government officials are strictly prohibited.
- Verification of News: All news posts must include a link to the original source and provide full context. Unverified claims or rumors without a verifiable source are not allowed. News threads must not be used for "Backlink" or "Site Indexing" purposes. The accuracy of the source is the responsibility of the poster.
- Discrimination & Hate Speech: Threads or comments that marginalize, polarize, or incite hatred based on Race, Religion, Gender, Disability, or National Origin are strictly prohibited.
- Illegal Content: Any content related to illegal gambling, illicit substances, or anything that violates U.S. Federal and State laws is banned.
- Political Discourse: Personal opinions on political news are permitted only if they remain respectful, civil, and free of insults toward other community members. The final interpretation of 'respectful' and 'civil' is at the sole discretion of the StateGigs moderation team.
- Fundraising & Solicitations: Requesting donations, aid, or help is prohibited. Even with official permits, you must contact a Category Moderator for approval before posting. All approved fundraising activities must comply with applicable FTC and state charity regulations.
